In Their Words

Black White Gold abstract art

Thoughts, reflections, and kind words from artists who’ve experienced my in-person and online workshops, courses, and videos.

“I really appreciate your 'no pressure' approach--to just be who we are 💛”

— Jean Klooster

“I was drawn to taking the workshop “Be The Artist You’ve Always Wanted To Be” because I have admired Lynette’s work, and I wanted to learn about her process. Lynette is a great teacher who asks lots of questions, of her marks and tools as she is teaching, and of each student as they make marks and use various tools. This really heightened the experience of play and trial and error. I became more and more confident of making marks and trying lots of different tools and paints because there wasn't a wrong way of trying anything. I’m going to keep making marks and using asemic writing in my work now as I see it is an important way for me to express my thoughts and emotions as I paint. Lynette has also instilled in me a desire to simplify my work - to show areas of rest, pause, and reflection.”

— Greta Blaak

“Lynette is a fabulous teacher. She is truly able to take her students with her on her creative journey by working without preplanning her steps, making the experience authentic. She does a great job of expressing her intuitive process as she is going so her students receive the benefit of hearing her voice the thoughts that comes from her many years of experience. I would highly recommend this course.”

Hello Lynette.

Thank you for these little messages and insights.  They are invaluable.

Since practising with your ideas, I've started enjoying my art so much more, have produced some very satisfying pieces and am about to exhibit my first small triptych titled 'Sunrise, Noon, Sunset, using black, white and gold acrylic and inspired by your YouTube video.

Thank you for your generosity,,
Carol Adams

“Amazing course! Be the Artist You Always Wanted to Be helped me find the courage to express my own voice.”

— Laurianne Felicite

”Lynette is a great teacher. I've grown as an artist because I worked with her. I learned to see a problem area in my artwork as an opportunity to analyze and grow instead of a source of frustration.

— Sheryl Holman

Hi Lynette, Thank you so much for providing this three-part lesson. Flearned a lot and really enjoyed it. I can't believe what a difference the black mat made. It showed you where the little works of art were hiding. I'll definitely give this a try.

Sincerely,
Janel McGruder
